Only Two months Left for $12 Million Lottery Ticket Sold in Barstow

SACRAMENTO – It’s been four months since a lucky California Lottery player purchased a SuperLotto Plus® jackpot-winning ticket in Barstow, and Lottery officials are still waiting for the owner or owners of that ticket to come forward. The prize is worth $12 million to the big winner – but only for two more months.

The winning ticket was purchased for the April 24 draw at Barstow Station Ice Cream, which located at 1611 East Main Street in Barstow. The lucky retailer received a bonus of one-half percent, or $60,000, for selling the jackpot-winning ticket. The winning numbers are 25, 27, 39, 6, 15 and the Mega number is 17.

The California Lottery would like to remind the winner to sign the back of the ticket, keep the ticket in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. $48.5m Winning Powerball Ticket Ripped Up!

A pair of co-workers and friends in Montana have been purchasing lottery tickets together for a few years. After purchasing 1 or 2 $96.9m Powerball jackpot winning lottery tickets she checked the website for the winning numbers and ripped the ticket into four thinking she didn't win. But she checked the winning website before it was updated, the next day when she heard that the tickets were purchased at the same pub, she went back and found her winning Powerball ticket in four. After ripping up lottery ticket, Montana pair claim $48.5M share of Powerball jackpot

Six lucky numbers turned into a life-changing, eight-figure payout for a pair of Helenans who Thursday discovered their share of a Powerball lotto jackpot will be some $48.5 million.

Kim Claassen, 55, and 23-year-old Joe Lamport Jr. have worked together at North West Home Health Care for several years, and over that time have intermittently purchased lottery tickets together with the understanding that they would split any winnings. Wednesday night, Claassen stopped at the Town Pump on North Montana Avenue, just up the street from the Montana Lottery headquarters, and bought $10 worth of tickets, including what turned out to be the winning combination, for that night's $96.9 million Powerball drawing.

The two are splitting the jackpot with the holder of another winning ticket sold in Ohio. It's the biggest single lotto payout in Montana history, eclipsing a $47 million Lotto America winner sold in Havre in 1991.

Claassen, who also works part time in distribution services for the Independent Record, said she slept just and hour-and-a-half between jobs Thursday morning, and was still in a state of shock Thursday afternoon.

"Mostly I've just got to let it sink in and let it feel real," she said. "It's going to have a huge impact on a lot of people's lives."

At a news event at the convenience store where the winning ticket was sold, Lamport said he wasn't sure what he'd do with his share of the winnings.

"I just want to go fishing," he laughed. "I'm not going to Disney World!"

Claassen very nearly let the winning ticket get away. She said she checked the lottery website Wednesday night, and believing her numbers were not winners, tore the ticket into four pieces and threw it away, and sent Lamport a text message saying, "We're not millionaires yet." A winning Mega Millions ticket worth $250,000 has expired. The deadline to redeem the ticket was 5:00 p.m. Monday. CBS 6 contacted the Virginia Lottery as soon as the deadline passed, and we were told no ticket holder came forward.

The unclaimed cash will now go to the state literary fund.

Whoever bought a Mega Millions ticket in Chesterfield County won a quarter of a million dollars and may not even know it.

The Virginia Lottery says a $250,000 winner was purchased October 13th, but the winner still hasn't come forward. If the ticket isn't redeemed by Monday at 5pm, it will expire.

The Lottery says it was bought at the Chevron Corner Mart on Ironbridge Road across from the county courthouse.

BENICIA, CA (KGO) -- A golden ticket is about to turn to dust, unless someone acts fast.

California lottery officials are urging every lottery player in Benicia to spend the day checking their old tickets because someone is still holding a Mega Millions ticket worth $796,000, but it must be turned in by 5 p.m. today.

The ticket was purchased at the CVS Pharmacy on 2100 Columbus Parkway in Benicia on Sep. 29 of last year.

The winning numbers are 45-21-50-25-2 and the Mega number is 21, the only number the ticket didn't have. Read the whole story...

Lottery Jackpot Testimony: 'She Said I Wasn't Going To Get a Dime'

NEW BRITAIN — The damage to the bond of two elderly sisters from a dispute over a $500,000 Powerball jackpot could be measured by how little love was on display in court Tuesday.

Rose Bakaysa, 87, and Theresa Sokaitis, 84, never seemed to lock eyes.

There were no smiles or waves.

Bakaysa referred to her sister as "Mrs. Sokaitis."

But even while testifying against each other, signs of a past sisterhood were evident.

Sokaitis recalled how Bakaysa paid the school tuition of one of Sokaitis' six children and gave her money when her car was repossessed. And when Bakaysa had heart surgery, Sokaitis visited her in the hospital every day.

"I love my sister," Sokaitis told the judge. "There was no reason for us not to be partners."

Superior Court Judge Cynthia K. Swienton told the sisters that their five-year wait to get the court to resolve their dispute could be over in the next few months when the judge would likely make a ruling in the case.

TIME - and luck - has run out for the holder of a winning Lottery ticket, which may well have been bought in the strath.

The search for the ticket holder, who had matched all six numbers, has been building in intensity in the past few weeks, with National Lottery players being urged to to check and double check their tickets.

Camelot Group, operator of The National Lottery, has announced that the £3,681,197 prize from the Lotto draw made back on Wednesday, September 23 last year, has remained unclaimed more than 180 days after the draw took place.

All the money, plus the interest it has earned, has now passed over to the Good Causes. The ticket-holder bought their Lotto ticket in the constituency of Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey and the deadline for claiming the prize was at 5.30pm on Monday this week.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money. To avoid this unfortunate situation happening again, I would urge all National Lottery players to check their tickets on a regular basis. Read the whole story...
